County Court Judgements and Mortgages

Let’s take CCJs as an example. A CCJ shows that a creditor has taken action against you in the past to recover a debt. If you have a CCJ on your credit file many lenders, particularly mainstream lenders, will take this as an indication that you are a poor risk. They may then be reluctant to lend to you. We know however that there are many aspects to a CCJ. Things like how old the CCJ is, whether you have multiple CCJs and whether the CCJ is satisfied (the debt has been cleared). All these make a difference to how a lender will view any CCJ you may have. That’s why it’s important that you work with specialists, like us, to ensure that you have the best chance of finding a mortgage.

It’s not just CCJs. All negative events on a credit report such as missed loan repayments, missed credit card payments and even bankruptcy benefit from being examined by a bad credit mortgage specialist who can really explore your options.
